Tanah Lot becomes the most favourite tourism object in Bali

Tanah Lot – one of the tourism object in Bali, has now become the most favorite tourism object. This beautiful temple is located in Beraban village, Tabanan regency, about 18 kilometer to the west from Denpasar.

The temple is very unique as there are two temples built on the big rock and the other one on the cliff, which similar to Uluwatu Temple in Badung Regency. This is why tourist love to see this temple. Tanah Lot Temple is a part of Sad Kahyangan Temple, one of big temples on the island.
As the tourism object, the Government has successfully managed the temple. The road is good, the parking lot is wide and its environment arranged beautifully. Out of many tourism objects in Bali, Tanah Lot gets high demand from both domestic and foreign tourists and it is the most crowded place visited by tourists.

Tourism Department of Bali Province recorded that the number of tourists both from Indonesia and overseas visited Tanah Lot in the last five years is still the highest, followed by Uluwatu Temple located on the South tip of Bali Island. The number of tourists coming to Tanah Lot in 2012 was 3,092,434 people consist of 1,649,655 domestic tourists and 1,442,779 foreigners and in 2013 it increased at 20 percent. The second top is Uluwatu, which receives a visit of 803,567 people last year and in the third place is Ulun Danu Beratan 45 Km to the North from Denpasar, which 512,365 visiting tourists.

It is reasonable that Tanah Lot gets the most visited tourism object, said Made Sudiana, a local guide, besides its location is near from the tourism center in Kuta and Nusa Dua, in here the tourists could enjoy the beach view and temple, which none in the world could compete.
Moreover, this tourism object offers arts performance in the form of ‘kecak’ for tourists with the background of ocean and temple view.

Bali Arts Festival June 15 to July 13, 2013

This year, the 35th Bali Art Festival will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2013 and there will be more that 340 nationality to having art performances at the stages of the Bali Art Center in Denpasar. The foreign groups will be from USA, India, Korea and some part of Europe that will also include a collaborative efforts between Balinese and foreign artist.

The 2013 Bali Art Festival will using a theme of ‘Taksu’ (charisma) and therefore focusing on traditional art performance. Apart from the art performances such as traditional dancing, singing, gamelan, etc, there will be culinary exhibitions for traditional and international culinary, fashion shows, exhibition of traditional handicrafts from the whole part of Bali.


Ogoh-Ogoh, the effigies festivals

Ogoh ogoh are the effigies statues built for the Ngrupuk parade, which takes place on the eve of Nyepi day in Bali, Indonesia. This year, Pengrupukan Day falling on March 11, 2013 and at the time the City of Denpasar will hold the Parade of Ogoh-ogoh.
